KONTRIBUSI PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENULIS DALAM BAHASA INGGRIS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kontribusi penggunaan media sosial terhadap keterampilan menulis dalam bahasa Inggris. Seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan meningkatnya penggunaan platform media sosial di kalangan pelajar, dampaknya terhadap kemampuan berbahasa, khususnya dalam menulis, menjadi perhatian penting. Penelitian ini melakukan kajian literatur untuk mengidentifikasi berbagai aspek yang memengaruhi keterampilan menulis dalam bahasa Inggris melalui interaksi di media sosial. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial, seperti Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, dan platform berbagi konten lainnya, dapat menjadi sarana efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis, terutama dalam hal kelancaran berbahasa, kosakata, serta kemampuan menyusun kalimat. Penggunaan media sosial memungkinkan pelajar untuk berinteraksi dalam konteks yang lebih informal dan kontekstual, yang dapat memfasilitasi pembelajaran menulis secara lebih praktis dan komunikatif. Namun, tantangan terkait dengan kualitas tulisan dan kesalahan tata bahasa juga perlu menjadi perhatian dalam memanfaatkan media sosial sebagai alat pembelajaran. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa media sosial dapat berkontribusi positif terhadap keterampilan menulis dalam bahasa Inggris, asalkan penggunaannya dilakukan secara bijak dan terarah.
